    • Monica Corrado, MA, CNC, CGP was introduced to me during my 30 day water fast as a weekly guest speaker. She helped Dr. Katie Deming curate an appropriate menu for those healing from cancer. Many of the principles she teaches are rooted in the GAPS Diet. For the first time ever, I feel like I’m really starting to understand the root of my relationship with food and its impact on my health. As I begin refeeding after this epic foodless journey, I am eager to rebuild a healthy foundation in my gut. Even though the GAPS diet seems extremely restrictive to some, to me, I can understand how it roots out the worst underminers to vibrant health- for me, those were far too much sugar, starch, alcohol, and junk and not enough simple, nourishing, home cooked food. She wrote an incredible book that lays out all the techniques and foundations you need to get started- I can’t recommend it enough. Buy it here.

    • -Dr. Katie Deming brought hope into my life during a tumultuous time when I was confused and afraid. Through her courage, she helped me to find my own. She was a radiation oncologist for 20 years, who after a significant spiritual experience, decided to pivot her practice to support patients through medically supervised water fasting. When I got hit with my cancer diagnosis in July of 2025, I was a mess. I didn’t know what to do. A longtime proponent of self healing and natural medicine, I shuddered at the thought of putting my body through chemotherapy and radiation. The fast gave me an opportunity to really distill how I felt about many things. The clarity and peace helped me to release unconscious stored trauma and hurt that was fueling addictive and damaging behaviors. Through the fast, I reignited my sincere self compassion as well as embraced taking responsibility for my self care with tenderness, love, and purpose. I know I will be guided each step of the way on my journey to healing, and I hope I can bring you along with me.
